Prime serves its purpose to DE as is. It signifies that in the Lore of the game Warframe, the current Prime weapons and gear came before everything else in their historical timeline, whether or not they were implemented before or after other weapons or warframes. For all intents and purposes, it signifies that they ARE origin gear.

Stop using Dark Sector and it's concept trailer as a crutch, [so far] the Primes where made first by the Orokin when the Tenno where created. That's all there is too it. Prime = First Warframes.

You could consider that old Dark Sector video to be a pre-alpha alpha. It was a concept, and nothing more at the time, and sadly it wasn't used, save for bits and pieces. We are lucky now to have that concept taken and put into Warframe.

I always like to farm my primes by burning through the hoards of relics that I have and have accumulated. It’s a lot of fun and you get a lot of stuff that you can use later on. Sometimes people will be running vaulted relics as well in public games which is great for farming platinum.
