They generally have 5a listed as not compatible as it doesn't have CDMA. Few new flagship phones support CDMA anymore. If you take it to a store one of the techs should be able to put a 5g sim in and set it up. Have Verizon install a Sim and provision the phone as a "cdma-less device" and it will work just fine.
