I have a 16 gallon biocube I've had for a week. Currently it has 14 lbs of live rock in it and some live sand. In the three chambers in the back are the stock filter cartridge in the right, nothing in the middle media trays, and the stock sponge in the bottom of the left chamber.

Your LFS is correct, you won't need the chemi-pure until the tank is cycled. Your floss & carbon tray at the top is upside down. The plastic slots are supposed to be facing downward with the floss on top. Otherwise, the floss won't filter anything out.
