imca chassis hobby stock setup
im in need of some help for a good imca hobby stock chassis setup. illl be running 3/8 and 1/2 mile tracks.my wheels are 15x7 with either a 3,31/2,4 inch offset 205/70 or 75 r15 tires.some tips and help would be very helpful thanks.
Re: imca chassis hobby stock setup
4off on l/f ,3off on r/f ,3 off on both rears .The rear axle needs to be offset so the r/r is atleast 1'' closer to the centerline of the car than the r/f,l/r needs to be 1'' farther from the c/l than the l/f.Bilstein DP1 shock package is a good place to start.Replace the lower balljionts with the chrysler screw in (772 is the larger, moog 727 smaller)I would start with 150 lbs of bite in the left rear,225 spring l/r, 200r/r then just start trying front springs till handled good Attension to detail is what makes a car fast, get every ounce of wieght from the front tires forward out of the car.
Re: imca chassis hobby stock setup
hw do i get a 150lbs of bite in the left rear.what would recommend for front springs to star with 800 l/f and1000 r/f.
Re: imca chassis hobby stock setup
No offense meant bderry, but get someone local to show you how to scale the car & everything that goes with basic setup. There is more than one way to skin a cat (but most of 'em will make you puke (just joking)), but RCJ knows what he's doing & gives good advice. IMO 800 & 1000 is too much spring split. Try 900/1000 or 800/900.
Re: imca chassis hobby stock setup
With the car on the scales subtract the wieght of the r/r from the l/r (950-800=150).''Bite'' is just a term somebody made up that dirt track people use.
