How does a slave clutch work?
A hydraulic clutch setup generally has less pedal pressure than a traditional mechanical assembly, but still utilizes a traditional throwout bearing. The throwout bearing and the slave cylinder work in conjunction together to activate and engage your clutch. The throwout bearing is located in the center of the clutch plate and applies pressure to the clutch fingers to get the clutch to engage. The slave cylinder is attached to the transmission and works by receiving pressure from the master cylinder, allowing it to extend the clutch forks out and disengage the clutch. When you are not using the one component you are using the other to get you clutch to either engage or disengage.
