Can I put swivel studs on a synthetic stock?
I also found some swivel studs on Brownells and they also had a special drill bit for drilling the holes into the synthetic stock. I'd like to be able to put some swivel studs on it so I can more easily carry it up and down a tree stand ladder.

What is a Grovtec sling?
Grovtec makes many different adapters that can be used to outfit whatever style sling you want. They make quick detach type, and standard hunting type swivel attachment s for butt stocks. You can replace the large fixed loop with an adapter, then use push button swivels in the gas block, and rear mount.
Does Magpul have a quick disconnect?
The Magpul buttstock doesn't have this Quick Disconnect although I have noticed that most models of AR556 have a metal loop mounted on the heel of the buttstock to facilitate mounting a sling. What hardware do I need to mount a sling. C.

So I just picked up a Remmy 700 in a Magpul Hunter stock. It currently has a Harris bipod on it attached via an M-Lok rail. While this is fine for the range, there are dimples on the foregrip and rear of the stock intended to attach swivel studs.

The "special" drill bit you refer to is a "step bit" that makes a counterbore for the stud to sit into. Normally used on wood stocks, more for looks than function.

I ended up researching and ordering some heavy duty one touch release button swivels from Brownells, and will install them over the w'end.

Drill it at the dimple points using the bit size and instructions that magpul and/or sling swivel maker should provide.
