If you can turn the plug out, you can go to a large size plug. If you can't get the plug to come out, take the outer primary cover off allowing the oil to drain out as you remove the outer cover. Sure it's messy but you've got no choice. Now with the cover off, push down on the plug while trying to turn it out. It'll probably come out doing this.

Personally, I think the H-D AGM battery is about the best value out there at this moment in my area. They are competitively priced and they are excellent batteries. If you keep them on a "smart charger" when you're not on your bike, i've seen five year lives out of them typically.
