Use a Phillips head screwdriver to remove the two screws hidden within the holes. Once you insert the screwdriver all the way into the hole, twist while rotating the screwdriver counter-clockwise and you will feel it grab. After the two screws are removed, the recoil pad can be pulled off of the stock.

Where to mount sling on Magpul MOE stock?
Looking at the pic below, do I attach my sling through the slot at 9 o’clock or 5 o’clock? I will attach the other part of my sling under the sling attachment near the bayonet lug. Thanks!

Depends on how you want to carry it. At the 9 o'clock would facilitate carry with the rifle side flat to your body. 5 o'clock for more "normal" carry. You can also probably find a sling swivel that will fit in that small opening at the 6 o'clock position, which again would be standard carry.
