I just built a factory amplifier/crossover bypass adapter for my 2002 Chevy Tahoe Z71 (non-Bose system) . This adapter will allow the full range of audio directly from your head unit to the door speakers. Without this adapter, the factory amplifier will cut out much of the bass / low frequency audio to the door speakers.

no problem with replacing all speakers with ones that are compatable wth you new amp .. and that means the the speaker impedance has to be wtihin the range of what the amp can drive (like 4 ohm, 8 ohm, 16 ohm) .... the subwoofer needs inputs from both left and right channels .. it also needs its own amplifier and low pass filter ..
