When tuning an LT1 PCM, one of the first things to do is remove things that you dislike or physically removed. Then you may change constant values. Lastly, are the more complex items that involve entire tables.

Can the LT1 engine tuning be applied to other vehicles?

How much HP can the LT1 handle?

The stock LT1 fuel system is good for about 600rwhp, much past that and you need to upgrade the fuel system, and the stock ZL1 fuel pump doesn't take you much further. If you're spending the money to do that then you might as well put in a new cam, heads, forged pistons, etc.

Can a LT1 handle nitrous?

In 2018 Nitrous can be a very safe way to add power with all the controllers out there on the market. The LT1 should handle Nitrous better then boost simply because you are not dealing with the same fuel system limitations as Forced Induction...not to mention High Compression and Nitrous work well together.

How much horsepower can a LT1 handle?

The LT1 can handle up to around 700rwhp reliably, but there have been cases before that and after that where the ring gaps have caused issues. LT4 and LT1 are not really close at all. LT4 is lower compression, forged pistons, different heads, different cam. LT4 can handle 1000whp on stock internals.

Is 93 octane enough for LT1?

Part of the issue is due to the compression combined with not enough octane. 93 isn't enough octane to allow a LT1 NA engine to target MBT. E85 will keep those pistons and rings nice and cool. It is obvious this engine loves E85. It gains 25-30whp on a NA engine and 60-70whp on a boosted engine over 93.

Is the SS LT4 the same as the ZL1?

The LT1 the SS uses is not the same as the LT4 the ZL1 uses. Same displacement, heads, and some other minor parts but thats it. The LT4 has forged pistons from the factory and a stronger rod. The crank is the same from what my shop said when I asked.
