How to get homebrew on Wii?
Take your SD card or USB and out it into your Wii. Next, go to the Wii Message Board. You can find it by clicking on the button at the bottom right corner of the Wii home menu. Look for a red letter with a bomb inside it. (Don't worry, nothing going to explode or break). If you can't see it, just change the date to the one before or the one after. Go through the whole installer until it gives you the option to download the Homebrew Channel. Allow it to install and you should see it in your home menu. Now you have the home-brew channel.
What is a homebrew channel?
The Homebrew channel is a way for Wii users to play unofficial games. Examples would be Newer Super Mario Bros. and Super Smash Bros. Project M. These games were made by various people. Newer Super Mario Bros. is the same as its original, except with totally brand new levels.

Multiple installations
Create a Homebrew installation wherever you extract the tarball. Whichever brew command is called is where the packages will be installed. You can use this as you see fit, e.g. to have a system set of libs in the default prefix and tweaked formulae for development in ~/homebrew.
Install Xcode Command Line Tools
Xcode is an integrated development environment for macOS, and it contains tools that Homebrew needs to function properly.
