My just delivered RRA A2 buttstock is decidedly gray. It was supposed to be black. I've read that it can be darkened by spraying with CLP or WD40 and then left to soak, and although I love petroleum and chemicals, I'd rather not have these so close to my face on a hot day.

What is an AR-15 A2 buttstock?
The UTG A2 synthetic AR-15 buttstock assembly is a drop in replacement part. The stock is molded from impact resistant advanced polymer and features a storage pocket for a cleaning kit, small parts, or other accessories. The stock assembly includes the A2 extension tube, recoil spring, buffer assembly, stock spacer and screw.
Can't find a colt A2 stock?
If you can't find a Colt A2 stock... be sure to check if your choice has a metal door or a plastic door. I would like to think Fulton Armory supplies Good To Go parts.. thanks. I'm looking harder at the magpie right now. @MitchK FDE won't work not scary enough and not color coordinated with the black on the rest of the rifle.
What is the difference between the A1 and the A2 stock?
The UTG A2 fixed stock is a rifle-length fixed stock that is slightly shorter than the collapsible stock (that came with the WW “SRC”) when fully extended, but slightly longer than the A1 stock that is more in proportion to carbine-length MSRs.
Do you prefer a full or collapsible stock on your AR-15?
For the most part (and there may be exceptions), the collapsible stocks that are usually mounted on new AR15 MSRs are made for the masses and different size operators. I prefer a solid stock, full or carbine length.

I chose #s 1/2. Ordered a new factory (Windham) swivel and associated screw (overkill). Shall make the cut tomorrow. Pretty exciting, eh? Perhaps I'll post a step by step pictorial / tutorial.

Same swivel as on there. The swivel is in my way. I bought a factory replacement to install if I choose to put it back to factory. I'm cutting the sling "loop" off and reinserting the remainder (flush with bottom of stock) so that I have my lower plate screw, screwed in.

I have seen the loop, stud and QR parts to put on them....I am actually wanting the one Greg posted now so I can use the sling I have on my 450 without taking the straps apart.
