1/8" is fairly easy to bend, but I agree with the previous post about using heat - need be - however when red hot it'll bend like a rubber hose (no need for that hammer) on the other hand if you prefer to bend it cold you could try using a hunk of rubber (old tire perhaps) pu tin in the vise (arbor press, hydraulic press, etc) and using a old socket you can bend it right into the rubber - you might want to experiment jsut a little to get a feeling for the amount of "springback" you're gonna get..

Harbor freight has a $50 tool that does a decent job. I've used it on 1x1/8th cold rolled steel and been happy with the results.
