how many pounds of boost does a stock evo have

If you have a stock engine, with a compressor that is factory set to produce no more than twenty pounds of boost, you shouldn’t modify the system to make it produce much more than 25 pounds of boost. And increase of 5 pounds over stock is probably the limit you should go by. Can a stock engine handle a turbo? Yes, but it’s usually a very bad idea.

How much boost should a stock E6 have?

It depends so much on 'stock' boost. From factory an E6 is ment to have more boost, but adding an exhaust and filter will change things a lot. With an exhaust and filter it should flow around 16psi. But if your turbo is a bit poked or something it may not spool up as much. So its very hard to determine stock boost.

What is the PSI of the Evo 6?

Uncles Evo 6 runs 14.9psi only mod it has is rims and a boost gauge. Mate had a Evo 5 for awhile before his gf made him sell it. It showed 1 bar boost.

How much boost can a stock Evo handle?

Premium Member. The turbo can produce up to 30psi, but it's only efficient to 25psi.

How much power can a stock Evo make?

With the early EVO engines it will be the stock TD05 that limits your maximum power. On our dyno the most I've seen with a stock turbo on pump gas was around 320-340 whp. A race fuel will allow a little more but the turbo starts to choke as you raise the boost.

How much boost can a stock 4g63 handle?

in most cases the evo's stock motor can handle 450-500whp.

How much boost does a stock N54 make?

N54 Stock Turbos Max Boost Summary Likewise, newer OEM turbos may decide to give out before 20psi. However, if you are concerned about N54 turbo longevity, somewhere in the ballpark of 17-18psi on stock inlets/outlets and 19-20psi on upgraded should be safe for most.

How much HP can a stock EVO 8 handle?

The factory Evo 8 ignition system is very easily capable of 500 horsepower, but you will need to switch to colder heat range spark plugs.

How can I make my Evo faster?

Evos have pretty decent air intakes as standard, but you can optimise your air flow with a replacement filter. Better air intakes allow you to increase the flow rate, boosting the performance of your Evo with very little effort. Alternatively, you can replace the intake pipe with a smooth silicone hose.

How much HP can a 4g63 hold?

How Much Power Can A 7 Bolt 4g63 Handle? The stock build of a 4g63 engine can hold 400-500 horsepower.

How much boost can I run on stock internals?

higher boost can cause detonation, which can kill a motor way before it has mechanical problems with the power being made. OK... well the proper setup should only need 10-12psi to make 500-600rwhp/trq. on a stock ls1/ls2. These boost numbers can be plenty safe so long as the car has the proper tune.

Re: Need to know what's the Stock Boost Psi in a Evo X

Well, I'm talking about a brand new car that just came out of the dealer, what is the highest Psi it will hit with the gas pedal all the way down gauge almost hitting red, im thinking 3rd gear

Re: Need to know what's the Stock Boost Psi in a Evo X

Im running 26 Psi tunned, i get the car in 3rd gear at 6000 RPMs and that is what the Psi reads, my questions is simple, if I do the same procedure with an estock non tunned car will i still read 26Psi?, I know on my old Evo IX stock was 18 Psi and after I tunened it was 23 Psi

Re: Need to know what's the Stock Boost Psi in a Evo X

Taper? New wastegate should fix the problem no? But daym 22lbs stock? That is pretty high, anyone know how high the stock STi runs? Also an EvoX gets 5 lbs of spike boost from a intake and exhaust mod?

mr.sky

My mates COMPLETELY stock evo 6 does 16psi I believe, but it does tail off at the top end with all the factory restrictions

BUMP

You could have another evo6 identical specs and it would struggle to make 14psi...

mr.sky

I'm sure thats possible. Different methods of reading boost, might have a crappy innacurate gauge, might be plumbed in somewhere different, blah blah blah. The one I mentioned was done at a dyno, so hopefully they should have done it right.

BUMP

i know someone with an evo6 too and he had 3 different boost gauges and they all had 3 different boost pressures.
