Does the iCUE H100i need thermal paste?
Honorable. As jim said, the h110i comes with pre-applied good quality pre applied thermal paste, but if you'll want to change cpu's or re-install the cooler you'll need to wipe there thermal paste and apply a new layer to the cpu, be sure NOT to spread it! less is better, pea sized.

You'll spot the cooling unit consisting of the radiator assembly, fan, and brackets + backplate that support an extensive range of AMD and Intel processors. A little thermal paste is pre-applied on the cooler for you.
Will the Corsair H100i leak?
'We discovered that less than one percent of Hydro Series H100i RGB Platinum SE coolers sold to date are leaking small amounts of coolant into the hose sleeving. These leaks are easy to spot, as the sleeving is white, and coolant is bright green.
How long does Corsair thermal paste last?
A standard thermal paste will last about five years on your CPU or any other chip. Depending on the climate, the computer's cooling system, usage, and the compound's quality, this number can decrease to three years or increase to as much as ten years.
Should I Repaste my AIO?
In most cases, you shouldn't need to reapply more than once every few years, though you should replace your paste if you remove your cooler for any reason. You may also want to consider reapplying thermal paste if you find your CPU temperatures are climbing.
Does Corsair AIO have thermal paste?
It comes with Thermal paste already applied to the plate.
Is there water already in an AIO?

I am buying a Corsair H100I V2 to cool my i7 6700K. I have thermal paste remover from Arctic and microfiber cloths, along with other better thermal compound. I have heard that pre applied thermal paste is not that good at all (dangerous CPU temps, shorter CPU life), so I plan to remove the pre applied paste on this cooler and replace with my own.

I've noticed over the past couple of months, the effectiveness of my H100i v2 has started to slightly diminish. I have always run a quiet fan / quiet pump profile with a i5-6600K (stock voltage) without any issues over the past 2.5 years since I setup my build.

The fact that the temps drop quickly is actually a good sign. And the cooler is still absorbing the heat from the CPU.

I don't really like that ambient to coolant temp differential. I can also see a rather sharp increase in the coolant temp mini-graph. iCUE leaves something to be desired with the accuracy of the tiny graphs, but that is a steep change. The noticeable difference in pump settings is also a warning.

The tricky bit is +9C is not completely out of bounds for a CPU stress test on a 240mm radiator for general discussion. I do think it is high for your CPU and specifications, but we are talking about fine margins and a few degrees - typical of early stages of a blockage or flow problem.

The other thing that I'd like to eliminate is environmental - we've seen (multiple) cases where the case builds up heat at the top. This will also increase the coolant temperature.
