They stayed with the 3.48" stroke of the 350 and shrunk the 4" bore to 3.736" bore by 3.48" stroke = 305. It's not the worst case on the 305, they also came out with a 267 engine at the same time- tiny 3.5" bore with the 3.48" stroke, that engine is a real turd.
