i wanted to know what the stock RPM stall is in the SS, and also i wanted to know if anyone knew where i could find a good deal on stall converter, and a shift kit, and one more thing i wanted to know is a 3000RPM stall too high for a low modded SS? Thanks

misterp

Since you said 'good deal' the GM 6-cyl truck/Trailblazer converter is hard to beat. Yes 3000 rpm is a bit on the high side for a SS with light mods, maybe 2600 might be a best fit. I have a 2800 and it's a hair on the rowdy side (not bad, truck just has 'racy character' ).

After talking to a bunch of guys on hear and Chuck at FLT/FLP trans i just ordered a PI 2800 10.5" stall for my truck and level 4 trans. I have a custom pcm, underdrive, and CAI. Seems most said 2600-2800 for my mods, but i went to the high end for better ET's at the track....i hope

zippy

the stock converter flash stalls to around 1800-2100 depending on the truck. as for going with a 3000 stall, there are a few around here that have ran that with a stock cam. you should be just fine if you get the programming to match.

cool every one thanks for everything, hey zippy how much do you charge for a shift kit and i kinda just want to go with a2800RPM stall and how much is that goin for? thanks

just wanted to let you in on a tip i found out about in finding out what stall your running. when you punch it from a standstill your rpm gauge will jump to a certain rpm before it slows down and starts climbing with speed. the point to where it jumps to should give you a great idea of what stall you are running it worked on my truck.
